School Board Election Update
With Linda Boucher and Kathy Lim deciding not to seek re-election, two new members will join the School Board. The candidates are:
Area II Seat
Amit Singh
Wes Sylla
At-Large Seat
Cheryl Milnes
Liz Beaudin
Having met with three of the four candidates, I’m impressed by their willingness to serve our community. This election is pivotal for the Elmbrook School District, given the significant decisions that lie ahead in the next three years. We need qualified, impartial, and committed individuals who can make tough decisions without resorting to future referendums.
Furthermore, with Superintendent Mark Hansen’s anticipated retirement, we require a School Board capable of selecting an exceptional leader for Elmbrook. The potential reversal of Act 10 by the Supreme Court also necessitates board members who can navigate the substantial challenges this would pose to students and residents.
In the coming weeks, I will research and make a recommendation to the community which candidates will best reflect the values of the community and be able to make sound and intelligent decisions for the children of Elmbrook Schools.
